Like a weathered, black husk of a ship
pulling into a harbor with its skull and bones colors flying,
Asva sails through speakers with an ominious air that haunts each
listener.
Like rogue mercenaries bent on destruction of musical mediocrity,
the members of Asva followed their commander G. Stuart Dahlquist
(SUNN 0))), Burning Witch) and his second in command B.R.A.D.
(Burning Witch) uncharted waters during production of Futurists
Against The Ocean.
Bonnaroo 2005
The rain fell but the music stood on its own

As traffic once
again crept into the 700-acre Manchester Tennessee farm,
a dark cloud formed and began to loom over the Bonnaroo
Music Festival, in more ways than one.
Tennessee law enforcement was in full force. Spreading
across the top of nearly every story that previewed the
weekend festivities
were warnings such as--“Police Crack Down On Bonnaroo”
or “Every Car Going To Bonnaroo Subject To Search.”
While both of those turned out to be gross exaggerations,
it did put the fear into Bonnaruvians who shakily headed
to the festival, hoping they wouldn’t be another
statistic.
