Our Silent War By Sonny Go
Let us not mince words for our very lives depend upon truth. We are all at war with ourselves. There is an inner struggle that plagues us all. Our very lives leave us stressed out and in misery after going through some of its many perils, and that's just for starters. In reality, we are all afraid to live, but we are also afraid to die. We live in a world of fear. This fear stems out from a trauma we obtained when we took our first breath in this mortal plane. After being inside a womb for 9 months or less, we are suddenly pushed out to the light. Then, we cry out by instinct upon activation of our senses. Finally, the infants that we once were then realize subconsciously that we are definitely alive. We would grow up with this initially unidentifiable confusion in our minds. As we grow into adolescence, we are then gradually exposed to the reality of it all. But by then, we'd be just pissed, but we would never really know why. With various kinds of people, depending on each situation, we are shaped into this mold and then cast out to become who we will be for the next few decades. We shall go as manufactured individuals. As time goes by, we would eventually be educated with the real ways of the world. We may be schooled or tutored, but the most significant things that we could ever learn are the experiences we encounter in this existence. It can range from glories to tragedies. We can have anything from happiness, to disappointment, to vice, to rape, and even to murder. Anything can become worse, but nothing can ever be better. That's how the rest of the world would want it. By the time it gets even worse, we would be closer to the breaking point. With all forms of logic dying down by the minute, the situation intensifies in pressure. It is only a matter of time before the limit is breached and all hell breaks loose. After every bit of crisis has destroyed us, either physically or emotionally or both, we would be nothing more than shadows of our former selves. That is how cruel life is. Anyone can try to make a compromise and say that it is not so bad and everything that is written here is mere exaggeration, but we know the truth. Life can be quite cruel to the unaware. How things can become better is up to us. It is us against the world and against ourselves. We have a silent war deep inside us all. We can never retreat and stay out of danger for long. Before our time is done, it catches up to us, and the only thing we can do by then is to either pray or beg. All we can do is to fight on. Life is worth the battle. This is our silent war, and we are the ones fighting it. We are all fighting with ourselves.
